Tucked away in the old French Quarter between Queen and Chalmers, at 27 State Street, sits a well-preserved specimen of early 1800’s living.
As you step through the iron gate of this 1814 residence and into the charming first-floor courtyard, notice the pronounced Old World influence of the architecture and decor, and allow yourself to be transported back to a time when horses, carriages, seafarers, and gentry lined the streets of this oldest of South Carolina’s cities. As you wander up to the open-air second floor, run your hand along the patina’d stair-rail, and enjoy the smell of jasmine blooms in the warm southern air.
